The Tour des Ports de la Manche 2011 organized by the Yacht Club de Granville in partnership with the COnseil général de La Manche and stage cities is the largest national race of Upper and Lower - Normandy.
The Tour will start for the first time in the Channel Island of Guernsey, St Peter Port on July 10. The start will be attended by Prime Minister Mr Trott London, the Minister of Culture and Recreation Mr Mike O'Hara, the Bailiff of Guernsey Sir Geoffrey Rowland, President of the General Council of La Mancha Mr Jean-Francois Le Grand and Team leader of the Yacht Club of Granville.
For the twenty - seventh edition, some great innovations appear in the course. But yes, it is still possible!
A premiere will be at the first step Guernsey - Cherbourg. What is the most magical to imagine passing the famous tidal Blanchard? The organizers have chosen to sail between the islands of Alderney and Burhou, and take the portion of the Monkey before being swallowed by the current of the Raz Blanchard, who at the end of Alderney can reach 7 / 8 nodes. The last step will also retain all the attention on July 15. Besides performing in front of the Port of Granville, for the first time since the inception of the Tour des Ports de La Manche, the 110 boats will tour the Chausey. A breathtaking landscape.

The fleet of 110 yachts will be divided into five categories for the rankings. The choice to limit the number of boats is done to ensure the safety of all, welcome in the ports and the management of part of this great festive gathering at each stop.
The regatta is never forget the celebration, conviviality, meetings and life ashore. As usual, cities, ports and sponsors will celebrate the 700 participants each evening. That is also the Tour des Ports de la Manche!
